Engineering Library Collections

The Engineering Library has over 56,000 volumes including a Periodical Collection with about 150 print journals and 1200 e-journals, a General Collection of books and conference proceedings, and a Reference Collection

General
Contains books, conference proceedings and other miscellaneous materials.  Located to your left as you enter the library.  Some conference proceedings have been moved to the Overflow section.
New Books
Contains items obtained in the last four weeks.  Located in the bookshelf against the wall, to your left as you enter the library.
 
Reference
Located straight ahead as you enter the library.
Ready Reference
Ready Reference contains some heavily used items such as the CRC Handbook.  Located in the bookcase next to the service counter (opposite the Reference Collection)
Current Periodicals
Located to the right of the Reference Collection. Note that many journal subscription are now online only.
Periodicals
Bound periodicals are located in the movable shelving next to Current Periodicals.  Older editions are located within the Hesburgh Library.
Indexes
Contains those indexes that are not available online, including older volumes (mostly pre-1970).  Located in the movable shelving past the Periodicals Collection.
Overflow
Contains conference proceedings for which we do not have enough room in the General Collection.  These are indicated by black boxes on the general collection shelves.  Located in the movable shelving past the Index Collection (the last rows against the back wall).
